Calamit produces two types of electro-permanent devices:

The EPC model is always magnetized and uses current to change orientation of the magnetic field (max insertion time = 10 sec). When current is not inserted, it goes back to be a normal permanent magnet.

The EPF type totally magnetizes and demagnetizes the magnetswithin the electro-magnetic module. This results in total security for the lifting and transport of any metal particular that will therefore not risk being accidentally let go due to lack of current.
